Update on Andon

Some of you may or may not know, but on Christmas Eve, Andon started to get sick. Randall and I both thought that he was on the downside of a "sugar high" from eating to many goodies at his school party. He started running a fever, had a sore throat and began vomiting, we then knew he was getting sick.
For the past 5-6 days, he hasn't eaten even a 1/2 cup of food. We made him drink Gatorade like crazy because we didn't want him to get dehydrated. Andon has been sick with RSV, Croup and other things so we pretty much know the drill.
He has been sleeping with me so I can keep an eye on him and plus Randall has been running a fever and feeling crappy too. Last night about 3:00am, he started screaming that his belly hurt and then began throwing up. I decided ENOUGH is ENOUGH. I got an appoint this morning at 9:30am. The doctor checked him out and said he has more than the common cold but nothing too serious. She determined that he had Bronchitis.
During the exam, she kept listening to his heart. She then began to tell me that he has an irregular heartbeat and wanted to do an EKG. The EKG confirmed what she heard. The best way I can describe it is:
Regular Heart beat: X.... X.... X.... X.... X.... X....
Andon's heart beat: X.... X.... X.. X.... X.... X.. X.... X
I hope that makes any sense. She said it may not be anything serious but she said it was rare in a child so young and it is a minor concern and wants us to follow up on it. She also said that with him being sick, it may have caused stress on his heart. He has an appointment at a Heart Institute in St. Pete on January 19th. They wanted him to go to All Childrens but they wouldn't be able to see Andon until March and the doctor wanted it done sooner.
Andon was nervous about the EKG machine but I reassured him that it wouldn't hurt. Once they got all the stickers and wires hooked up, I told Andon he looked like the Incredible Hulk (when they were testing some formula on the Hulk) . Andon and I started laughing and he wanted a picture to show his dad. We try to find the humor out of anything, we really aren't right. haha
Please pray for Andon and us. We are praying that all the tests will be ok.
I feel that it is not a major concern because the doctor didn't send us somewhere right away, but we are still a little cautious since she didn't want to wait as late as March to have it done.

Christmas Day

Santa came...

Andon loved his note from Santa and said that Santa "knows everything."

Here a few pictures of Andon opening up some of his presents. He did get everything on his list and was very excited.

The Cars tent was HUGE! When I bought it, I thought it was going to be this small little tent for Andon to play in.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Our Christmas started out rough with Andon running high fevers during the night and throughout today. He really enjoyed Christmas and spending time with the family.
I will post pictures soon but the lack of sleep is getting to me.

Christmas Eve (Part 2)

As soon as Andon got home from his party at school, we began finishing up his craft for Christmas. The gingerbread ornaments came out great!

After we finished the craft, we cooked spaghetti, drank coke and watched Elf. (we have done this for the past 3 years) We still laugh at the movie even though we have seen it way too many times.

We made Jesus cupcakes for his birthday and Santa some homemade cookies after the movie. They are always a blast.

Andon said the reindeer looked "dead"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS

Before Andon, got ready for bed we check the NORAD website to see where Santa was. I showed Andon where we were and he wanted to hurry and get to bed before Santa got here.

Andon had a very long day and was ready to wake up and see what Santa had brought him.

Hell's Kitchen UPDATE

We had a chance to visit with Ben on December 20 at a family Christmas party and got the update. On Dec. 19, he flew to L.A. to cook for Chef Ramsey. Ben has made top 20. There are 14 people on the show and 6 alternates. Ben was telling us that they were asked to make Chef Ramsey lunch, so Ben saw the ingredients to make his Grilled Cheese. The producer said, "You are not making a Grilled Cheese for Chef Ramsey" Ben said he asked him if he had tried it and the producer did and replied, "never mind" I want Ben to make us a Grilled Cheese now, haha! One of Ben's recipes that he made, Pork Belly, Chef Ramsey said he would like to add to one of his menus. We are truly excited and hope he does make it on the show.

UPDATE
I just got a call from Randall that Ben is now in the top 16 so his odds of making it on the show are pretty good. Out of the 16, 14 people will make it on the show. Ben doesn't know where he falls in the top 16 but we are wishing for the best!!
Also on this season of the show, Chef Ramsey will be going to each contestants house and them cook him a meal. I could not imagine having to clean my house for Chef Ramsey and America, who would be watching.

Christmas Eve

Andon's school is opened today for a half day. He didn't have to go but he wanted to because they are having a party and his friend, Elijah, was going. They were allowed to wear the pjs so we went and bough new IRONMAN pjs. He also took his reindeer.
Andon is more excited with Christmas this year. He is excited about Santa and asks Randall and I, a million questions about how everything works with Santa. We have truly enjoyed these past few weeks with Andon and the Christmas spirit. He can't wait until tomorrow to open all of his presents!

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS AND BAKING

Andon and I have been super busy with Christmas baking and crafts (and we still have 2 more projects to work on later tonight)
Andon's Gingerbread house he made at school:

I was reading one of my friend's blog and saw these cute Christmas trees so Andon and I decided to make them. We were telling his school dicector about them so I ended up getting everything together and his school made them too!

Love the green icing on Andon's face

Gingerbread Train

We have started doing Gingerbread houses as one of our traditions for Christmas. Andon's school is going to be making Gingerbread houses too. I went shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond and saw this cute Gingerbread Train and decided since he will be doing a house at school, we could do a train. It was lots of fun.
